I know that, but the Chicago CR is 2:03:45 and the WR is 2:03:23. It's tough to imagine that he believes he can run faster than the former and not threaten the latter. Maybe the idea is to do break the Chicago CR and then go for the WR with a huge payday or maybe he thinks the WR might be even lower when Chicago rolls around (since Berlin is earlier) and he doesn't want to commit to anything.

I have thought the same thing. If bekele can perform at an extremely high level during todays era with biological passport, new tests, etc. were his 2 WRs definitely clean?

He ran the fastest marathon debut and bike the Paris marathon record! How can you start suggesting he wasn't good enough to run the world records for 5000 and 10000?!

I know not everyone thinks that biking is cheating, but what if you grew up biking to school everyday while people in other cultures have to try to adapt later in life to biking a marathon? Is that a genetic disposition to biking a fast marathon or is it something that can be learned later, aka "nurture"?

The Berlin and Dubai courses make Chicago and Paris look like a hard courses, NYC is a difficult course, etc.

Exactly when do you think the EPO era was? Didn't Bekele run 26:2x for 10k on a rainy day in 2009? That was a world record effort.
