3:57 pace will break just about everyone. It worked on Obiri and really Hassan was a surprise. I think she really is using her best strategy to win.

I know how most feel about Slaney but go back and watch her 1500 AR. Mary was much faster than Jenny over 800 but her aggressive front running was very effective in her best races.

I think that it is pretty notable that Sifan Hassan, an Ethiopian-born Dutch, 21 years old this year, dropped 6.73 seconds in the 1500m this year. She did have an 8:32 3k from last year, but her other times were 2 flat and 2:41 1k. Hmm...
