According to the live results page, Matsatsa did not qualify. I don't know why Dwight said he did or why they showed a graphic saying both him and Bizimana qualified when neither of them did.

Well, if Bizimana didn't qualify, you could potentially call that a choke, since he's an experienced college runner, but I wouldn't say that about a freshman in his first championship. Too bad he's out.

On TMADDDETC’s little prediction thread most everyone (myself included) had some combination of Bizimana, Green, Austin and Matsatsa for their 800 podium, and all 4 are out. To their credit, there was one poster who picked Dolan for 2nd and another who had him 3rd. Very unpredictable event when seemingly everyone is a 1:46/1:47 runner.

They can't lower the banked curve. It needs to be flush with the ground. Something was wrong with the hydraulics

Wow, someone should have bought that guy a ticket to Glasgow last week. Would have been an easy gold for the USA. I’m not usually in to field events, but this guy is impressive.
