Can we see a sub 3:28?
From Norwegian Interviews I thunk Jakob has said that he wants to go for sub 3:28 next (as after the championship golds). Hope this means that it will be a race from the gun.

Monson is in it. Like what are people expecting. By my count there's just one relevant US woman not racing it since she's doing a Diamond League meet the following week.
Other top US 5k women beyond Monson: Cranny was in Monaco and is apparently in Brussels too doing the 5000 which is just 6 days after Lausanne - maybe hoping to go sub 14:30 for the first time which I would prioritize over a 3000 too. Schweizer is in a boot from a torn soleus. Infeld is done for the season and would be out of her depth in this field anyway. St Pierre done for the season and looked burnt out anyway. Like Kelati and Rogers are the only other top US track women this season who I don't know what they're doing and both would again be out of their depth vs an army of sub 8:30 women as they're both definitely 5-10k-half women rather than 15-5.

2022 Diamond League Diary: Jakob Ingebrigtsen, Sifan Hassan and El Bakkali to feature in Lausanne Diamond League meeting on Friday
Jakob Ingebrigtsen will be the only medalist returning from the Oregon world championships in what would have been another repeat of the World Championships final in the men’s 1500m race. It would have been interesting to see a rematch between Jake Wightman who won the gold medal versus Igebrigtsen who had settled for the silver medal behind him and Mohamed Katir of Spain who had won the bronze medal.
The other two missing here from the finalists are Ignacio Fontes of Spain and Joshua Thompson of the USA.
However, with Australia’s Oliver Hoare having just beaten Wightman at the Commonwealth Games it automatically makes him the man to watch.
The long-standing battle for supremacy in this event between Kenya’s Timothy Cheruiyot and Ingebrigtsen will also add excitement to the race. Also worth watching out for is the diamond league leader, Abel Kipsang.

Soufianne El Bakkali will have to wait for another day to race Lamecha Girma, who was recently injured in training.
Mens 1500 has just one pacer Akbache through 800 at 1:51. I guess they figure Jakob or Tim will be happy to push from there.
Womens 3,000 has Georgia Griffith all the way to 4:26 1600. Could be a quick one.
Are you picking Hassan to win? Last time out she looked to be ready to dominate again. Im assuming Niyonsaba will not be back in top form. Great field.

I predict he will actually gap the field on the 3rd lap, trying to run 3:27.x off a 1:51.x 800 split. He puts himself in position but finishes in 3:28.52.
Cheruiyot 2nd ~1 second behind Ingebrigtsen. Hoare 3rd in 3:29.8. Kerr 4th, Kipsang 5th both in the 3:30.5-3:31.5 range.
Seyaum ftw, then Niyonsaba and Hassan. Cranny & Koko dip just under 8:30, Monson, Muir and Hull just over. Henes PB.
Ingebrigtsen may not lose another race this year, but Cheruiyot and Hoare are both sharp enough and tactically sound enough to not get smoked by the Norwegian two races in a row (again) However it shakes out, Lausanne and Zurich should have two different winners. Two OAC lads in the top five seems like a good bet as well.
