2025 Boston Marathon

Sharon Lokedi absolutely the course record running 2:17:22 demolished Helen Obiri thanks to a 5:04 final mile that allowed her to put 19 seconds on Obiri in the final mile. Obiri held on for second in 2:17:41 with Yehualaw in third running 2:18:06, all well under the previous record

At 39K Sharon Lokedi and Obiri have broken away from Yehualaw as they are well under course record pace coming through 24 miles in 2:17:48 pace, well under 2:19:59 record.

Hell of a run by Conner Mantz. He was pushing so hard to break Kotut and Simbu those last two miles but just couldn't shake them.

He'll be a little bummed to have just missed two HUGE accomplishments as he was only 4 seconds off the podium and 8 seconds off of Ryan Hall's 2:04:58, the fastest marathon ever by an American.

But a huge 2:05:04 pb and 4th place is a tremendous run -- the best marathon of his life to date.

At 23 miles the women's pack is down to three, with Lokedi, Obiri and Yehualaw coming through in 2:18:11 pace with 5k to go

Korir in for the win in 2:04:45, fading a bit to win by 19 seconds, the second quickest winning time, as Alphonse Simbu beats CyBrian Kotut in a sprint finish for second both finishing in 2:05:04, with Mantz just off the podium and best time for an American in a big pb of 2:05:08

Korir's gap up to 55 seconds at 24 miles, about 7 minutes to go

Mantz pushing the downhills with ten minutes to go, dropping Edris, Ryan Hall's 2:04:58 American best is very much in play with two miles to go

Women 30k, through 1:37:40 (2:17:22), pack still at 4, with a 16:18 last 5k

Korir just ran 4:24 for mile 22, absolutely pouring it on, gap has not increased, with chase pack of 4 still 19 seconds behind

Korir has blew this race open, his 21st mile was 4:40, he has 18 seconds on a chase pack of 4, which includes Conor Mantz

Beriso makes a big move going into mile 17, mile 16 was 4:48, blazing fast, pack is down to three with Obiri and Yehualaw matching, Lokedi a few seconds

John Korir dropped a 4:41 20th mile to string out the pack and is looking strong. He's got a 10+ second lead atop of Heartbreak Hill and it's growing. The men's pack is really stringing out behind him but Conner Mantz is leading the chasers right now.

30K - 13 deep as they have dropped Kiptoo, 1:28:39 (2:04:41 pace) going through the Newton hills, 15:02 last 5k
