The US gave the Bahamas the win when the anchor leg Manteo Mitchel accidentally grabbed the Bahamas baton instead of his own. There is actually a picture with three hands on one baton (Mitchel's and the two Bahamas runners).

The team ended up finishing 5th and the relays coach Raymond Graham called the head coach a "dictator and a bully" and siad, "We lost the race before the race even started. The head coach went behind my back as the relays coach and meddled with the team."

Chaminade HS got a US#1 in the boys 4x800, running 7:39.44, but lost to Jamaica's Calabar who ran 7:37.36 for the win.

Brown broke the meet discus record with 210 feet, 9 inches. Stowers became the first person in meet history to win the 100H 3-times. The LSU men's 4x100 came in second as Jamaica's UTech won in 38.71.

LRC Team USA Takes Four Titles In USA VS. The World At Penn Relays

The US won the men's DMR, men's 4x100, women's SMR and women's 4x400. The women's 4x100 lost to Jamaica and in the men's 4x400 a botched hand-off for the US on the last leg gave the Bahamas the win.
