So in the last weekend and week I have noticed several results where a collegiate athletes beats some or all the post collegians/elites/whatever you want to call them in the field:
Alicia Monson wins Millrose 3k
Grant Fisher wins Millrose 3k...Morgan McDonald also beats all pros
Kyle Mau beats Pat Casey in a mile
Slightly related - Julian Wanders runs an incredible half marathon and he’s only 22.
All got me thinking: what is truly the peak age for running performance? Let’s keep it to 10k tops, as the half and the marathon etc. obviously need more seasoning.
Also, how are all these elites wasting their time to get beat by the amateurs? I don’t care if they’re running “rust-buster” races. If you’re getting paid you should roll into these college meets and wipe the floor with everyone.
