As the title suggests, looking for feedback for people who were in the 2:25-2:30 range and got down to sub 2:19. What did you change in your training? Was it different workouts, mileage, races?
Looking for advice for myself but from other threads it seems like there’s a couple other people on this forums in the same spot. I’ve gotten to the point where my past 3 marathon cycles I’ve gotten comfortable in the 90-100 mpw range, even up to 110 mpw for several weeks. Mostly focused on marathon pace and hard long runs with marathon workouts built in. I’m 3 months out from my next race and am shooting to stay right around 95-100 mpw with more 10k focused workouts for the first half of the cycle before moving to marathon specific workouts. Any advice for making the jump to racing at 5:40 pace to racing at 5:18 pace?
