I'm having a some pain in the arch, it only hurts after about 2 miles into a run, then I can start feeling that muscle in my foot get extremely tight feeling. I've tried othortics (blue superfeet) in fact I generally run with them but this came on anyway. I have new shoes, because my old ones were wearing out fast, I bought the same exact pair that I always run in for the past two years. It's definitely not PF, I can certainly pinpoint which muscle it is and it does not hurt at all in the morning nor rolling a golf ball on the PF. Walking barefoot gives me 0 pain, walking with shoes on or on othortics in the shoe gives me some discomfort. Running feels ok until about a 2 to 3 miles in, then it feels really tight enough for me not to wanna push it.
My question is how did you recover from this and do I need to take time off? This came on slowly during a run, I took off a day and then it came on again late into a long run. Can I tape or wrap this thing and be good? Or do I need to take some time off and cross train until it's gone? I'm doing the toe stretches for the abductor hallucis and feel like it's not really doing anything despite following the video exactly. I'm icing it, rolling it with a massage ball and stick roller, and taking some anti inflammatories. In addition to my bummed foot muscle I have some deep tight Achilles like pain but not sure if is related or the cause of my foot pain too.
