Pretty much title- what schools are on a similar level academically as Brown, but are less competitive athletically?

MIT, WashU, uChicago, Carnegie Mellon, U Rochester, Emory, Johns Hopkins - all D3
I’m sure there are many more but just a few. The answer to your question also depends partially in what you plan on studying
So almost Ivy League level academics but not as good athletics?
Look D3.
Slippery Rock, Fitchburg State, SUNY Cortland and Cazenovia come to mind.
Wesleyan
Tufts
Bowdoin
Pomona
Carleton
MIT
Brown is near the bottom of the ivies for distance. WashU may be as fast. U Chicago, MIT, and U Chicago are ranked ahead of Brown academically.

See!? Brown is so bad that U Chicago is ranked ahead of them twice.
Thanks for the catch. I meant Johns Hopkins.
Respectfully disagree, on your list only MIT has academics comparable to Brown. Not trashing the other schools, but just saying.
On your list, Only Caltech is comparable to Brown academically. The other schools aren’t bad per se but not on the same level
Trinity (CT)
Bowdoin
Lehigh
So, you are looking for a left wing activist training camp and Marxist indoctrination center?
None of these school are remotely close to Brown for academics. I’m sure they have produced successful grads but they are not even in the same conversation. Might as well throw in Colby college and Kutztown while you’re at it
Duke
Im a alumni of Brown. None of these schools is as good as Brown. At Brown people need very good acedemics . At those other places some have good acedemics, some not so good acedemics and some bad acedemics. Remember this !
Lol. Nice. I went to Med school with many smart people from various colleges. The Brown grads were definitely the ‘crunchiest’ an talked about Providence like it was the greatest city in the US.
MIT and U of Chicago have tougher admissions standards than Brown.

You are overstating the quality of Brown. But I can understand your bias as a graduate.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
