Note: I am not claiming my performance described below is impressive, but simply interesting for discussion.
I reviewed my strava 2018 YTD stats today: I have run 35 times this year (pretty evenly spaced, about once every 7 or 14 days) with a total distance of 130 miles, so an average of 3.7 miles per run.
I have run this same approximate volume for the past 4 years after about 6 years of a largely sedentary lifestyle. I am now 34. I ran in HS and college.
I can still run 6:00 to 6:30 pace on these short runs pretty easily. I ran a 5:30 mile at the end of a run 2 weeks ago, pushing hard but not redlining.
Anyone else able to run minimal miles but still manage to be faster than pathetic?
