On my past two long runs (12-13 miles right now), about 4-5 miles in at a quick pace, my hip starts feeling sore along with my knee. It gets slowly worse the longer I go and I have to stop and stretch my hip over and over and even then, it's only better for a few minutes.
Any idea whats going on?
On normal runs when I go a nice slow pace, my hip/knee are ok. I can run fast without problems as well, I just ran a 4:18 mile without any pain. So why does my hip/outside of knee hurt only on longer runs? It seems the combination of a faster pace and a long amount of distance aggravate something.
I currently am trying to help this situation out with thorough stretching of my legs after runs as well as foam rolling every inch of my legs.
