For anyone not paying attention, she's now the US champ in the marathon.
Debut*
Yay Emma! I am excited to see what her future holds. For now, I hope a sweet shoe sponsor is coming her way. She did indeed solo that race. Will be fun to see what she does in a race with a pack of women to run with. I hope she only continues to improve and drop her time. She looked like she was jogging the entire time. Her head does NOT move when she runs. Amazing form.
They should get running water first. Priorities!
Why wouldn’t Allie Keifer run this race instead of nyc?

Wow... She wasn't full of it.
stays off the radar living in a cabin with no water or electricity then just shows up prepared and wins.
I nominate Emma Bates as the 'NotSoBravey' of 2018

Well, there is electricity in the cabin, but it all comes from solar panels. Most people who live off the grid do use electricity that they collect in this way, and Emma is no exception. It's still super hard core to live off the grid. It's not an easy life. Kudos to her for living that life AND doing all of the training necessary to win!
I remember when Emma Bates got 2nd to Abby D in 2013 NCAA XC and then got 2014 NCAA 10,000m title on the track. She struggled for a bit post-collegiately, I remember seeing her slogging through the 10,000m at the 2017 Portland Track Festival and thinking, this girl is done. Very happy to have been proven wrong. It's inspiring to see a comeback like that.
Go Emma!!!

BS. Yeah, just like Hall last year. Run it once and or shut the trapper. Your 3:45 pace might be the indicator.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
