Can you elaborate on the mind games? Personally I like to try to close my eyes while running and see If I can make it 50m down the track, (start with 10m if you're a beginner) and open them when you think you hit your mark. It's a really hard game for your mind, but also your body.

I can't say whether it is or isn't, since I'm not a Kenyan nor have I spoken to one, but its a successful strategy that I've adopted
