There are serious accuracy issues with Strava’s total elevation gain summaries for courses. (It lists 400m of elevation gain for Berlin for example). Some of these charts at mymarathonpace.com runningahead, mapmyrun etc are also very questionable.
I’m interested in Garmin Connect total elevation gain of Rotterdam Marathon and courses like these listed below. (I know that this is still imperfect, but GC seems decent).
London, Berlin, Frankfurt, Fukouka, Grandma’s, NYC, Houston, Paris, Lake Biwa, Tokyo
Here’s some data so far...
Chicago- Seems to be between 150-225 feet of gain on Garmin data.
Boston- something like 550 feet of gain and 1075 drop.
CIM- about 320 or so feet of gain and, of course, overall net drop.
Philadelphia- about 580 feet of total elevation gain.
