I'm a middle school cross country runner who is not improving. Over the summer I didn't run much. I started the season running 18 min 2 miles (terrible) and now its the end of the season and I'm at the same time. I have been working my hardest all the time, but I'm not doing too much. Last year I ran and I got my mile time to 7 minutes. This season has felt terrible. I have no idea why... Anybody have a guess at why? I run 5 miles on Monday. 8 quarter mile repeats Tuesday. Hills wed. Short run Thursday and prerace run Friday. Saturday is race day and Sunday is off.
