Can't handle competitive pressure. Had a jerk off fest with his training, again.
Just because he is hugely talented doesn't mean he isn't a raging attention-ho as well.

What bothers you more: (1) that you spend all this time and energy thinking about Jim and he doesn't spend a second of his life thinking about you, or (2) your micropenis? I'm guessing they are related and they both bother you on a daily basis, but surely one is worse than the other?
No surprise there. Walmsley biggest enemy is Walmsley himself.
Not much recovery after WS100 and a to hard training too close to UMTB.
Will he ever learn?
No.

Did you make this same post after Western State last year?
Course record and race of the year so far.
Yes Walmsley did win WS with a new course record.
But this is just a small race with not much competition and Jim could train in similar terrain.
When it gets more competitive he is not doing that well.
Pre: Idolized by 98% of letsrun message boarders (and high school runners) for taking it out fast and running balls to the wall from the gun and not being afraid to push the pace.
Walmsley: Chastised by 98% of letsrun message boarders for taking it out fast and running balls to the wall from the gun and not being afraid to push the pace.
Ryan Hall: Idolized by 98% of letsrun message boarders for taking it out fast from the gun and not being afraid to push the pace.
Rupp: Critized by 98% of letsrun message boarders for never taking it out hard and essentially sitting and kicking.
Got it.

As an aryan, I´m proud of my diminutive genitals.

The difference is Jim is no Pre, Ryan Hall, or Rupp. Those guys could or can face competition and actually win or do well. He gets mentally psyched out. Keep jerking off to his training logs.

He beat the reigning UTMB champion by over an hour.
Will wait for more of your pathetic excuses.

That's right. There is only one race: UTMB. Every other race, including every one he won and set a course record in, is a joke. And his best at UTMB is 5th, which makes him the worst runner ever.
If he wins UTMB next year, then UTMB is a joke too. Then the only legit race is..., um..., Comrades. Ya, that's the ticket. Unless he wins that, then Comrades is a joke too.
He's bad at 100 milers because he trained too hard or not hard enough for them. He needs to get his training right.
Runners should only be judged by the distances and particular races they're not great in.

That's right. Until Walmsley wins as many internationally competitive marathons as Ryan Hall or as many Olympic gold medals as Hall or Pre, he's a loser.
And we all agree that anyone who is only good at races under 100 miles is a loser.
It is pretty clear he was smoked from training before the race even started. That is decidedly different from choking on race day.
Why are you so triggered?
"In retrospect, Walmsley does wonder if taking on Western States and UTMB was too much."
Yes, it was too much.
100 milers veterans like D'Haene knows that so he skipped UTMB after WS.
Walmsley presence at UTMB was mainly a sponsorship related affair imho.
Next year if he's serious about UTMB he should skip WS.
Think about marathon world, did you see any pro racing 2 top marathons in 5-6 weeks?
No matter how hard he trains, the body takes a toll after major efforts. I hope that he will learn before it's too late.

So it wasn't too much for Xavier Thevenard to run 2 high altitude, rugged 100s in basically 6 weeks? Oh, sorry, he "only" ran 91 miles at Hardrock before finding out he had been DQd.

Running at record pace in devastating heat Western States is a totally different kind of effort.
Also Thevenard at Hardrock had virtually no competition, him vs Browning.
Last, not least, Thevenard already won UTMB 2 times and had all his splits dialed to perfection.

He's said he plans to do Comrades and not WS next year.

more recently only managed to run over 31 for 10K.
He did it in the middle of training to win some money. His only goal was winning.
