What's the story here?
https://falmouthroadrace.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/WomensEliteMile.jpgI was there. Schlachtenhafer (??)tailed Schneider the whole way . Brook Feldmeier rabbited them in 2:12 with those 2 and McGee away from the field . Schneider and schlachtengafer were stride for stride the last hundred when she just fell down on her own, got up and finished just ahead of McGee. Coogan was announcing and said she dove for the tape , but when he said it , she shook her head “no” . Stinks because she was running 4:27.,
That is a great photo! At least she got up and still finished 2nd.
That had to hurt.
From the video, it's hard to tell why she fell. Does anyone know what happened?
Rachel came back this morning to win the Brooklyn road mile. Quite a double, but she has been doing that all summer, but usually the 1500/5000m double.
Bleh, these tactical 3:58/4:27 races are boring. They’re all capable of going way faster, so why not actually try to hit a fast time instead of fall asleep for the middle of the race and kick on the last lap? We all know Josh Kerr is way better than a 3:59 mile, tactical or not. The Sir Walter mile was a lot more impressive, especially on the men’s side. However, it was nice to see Will Leer finally back in the mix.
The men didn’t have a pacemaker for some reason . The women did. Good races all around.
Yes, it was great to see Will break 4 again.
From the front, it looks like there could have been some incidental contact that triggered the 1st off balance stride:

The woman who fell looks like she drifted into the lane of the race winner.

Funny, I was going to say the exact opposite. From the pictures, it seems clear that Schneider drifted out. But after watching the video, which starts a little earlier, I'm not sure that Schlachtenhaufen ran a straight line.
It seems clear they both have spent too much time watching BMart vids.

Regardless, the photos of the gal hitting the track are priceless.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
