Okay, I've ranted on this many times. So many people think that just what you do in training sessions is what determines athletic performance.
But training is a process of stress and recovery, and the most important factor in recovery is sleep. One example from the linked article: "In a study at Stanford University, when men’s varsity basketball players got an optimal amount of sleep, their free-throw and three-point field goal percentages increased significantly."
One of the keys to good sleep? "Go to bed and get up every day at approximately the same time, weekends included." Hmm, seems I've seen that advice on this board before...
And regular sleep is just as important for academic success. You say you're serious about being a successful student and athlete? Don't just say it, show it by making regular sleep a priority!
