I don't mean this in any way to diminish your running, but if we had one of those old school Superstars competitions, you'd probably be the first guy I'd pick for my team
Sounds too much like the crossfit carnival that was in town this weekend. Learning to pole vault so I can do a decathlon is on my bucket list though. I was also pretty into the long jump from elementary school track and field day. Thought being able to jump further than I was tall was the coolest. I would try and talk my friends into biking over to the middle school track to play long jump, somehow they weren't interested. In high school I quit high jump after two weeks because I couldn't clear the opening height. Wish I would have kept with it at least through puberty because my teammate who was pretty even with me at 800 was a decent high jumper and triple jumper.
On a somewhat related note, Shelby Houlihan started doing hurdle training this winter because she was going to try out the steeple in the off year. She obviously has no need to switch to the steeple now but still does hurdle work because she thinks the added athleticism is helpful.
http://citiusmag.com/citius-mag-podcast-shelby-houlihan/Gordon - Congrats on 2nd in the 5k and good long run as well
TDR - Nice negative split run
Jeff - How do you like run commuting? I've considered it but never tried.
sub 6 - Hope its nothing serious
RunGuy - Nice win!
Smoove - I think like AJ said you can't expect too much given the weather. Given the weather I'd approach your M pace work as either work capacity or efficiency. For the work capacity focus on getting the volume and time on your feet at a hard effort while for the efficiency focus don't do it during a long run and really try and hit your M pace to get used to the mechanics of running that pace for a lower volume.
AJ - nice long run workout
RRR - Are you able to do strides or hills at all or just easy running? My experience with hammies is that uphills don't really aggravate them. Also don't sweat the DNF. It's bound to happen to everyone sooner or later if when racing regularly and don't subscribe to the notion that runners should be kept in bubble wrap unless their 110%
Bdubs - consistent week
Allen - Congrats on the W!!! Taking down those youngsters too
Fitzy - get after it this next week

jewbacca - The build for Houston begins. Excited to see what you can do
SI - Consistent week
Bird - Damn. No offense to the other posters but I'd forgotten what someone in killer shape can do.
krishna - yikes, that asthma attack must be scary
HHH - great 3.5mi but unleash that kick next time and pick off some of those guys right ahead of you. Also, you work in fashion? any tips for what to wear this fall
Sam - Good luck on your 1mile race
