So I was a bad HS runner who got less bad but still not good. Took me until senior year to figure out how to train without getting injured.
I’m going to a D3 school that’s pretty good for D3 I think.
I was an 800/1600 runner, if I ran about 2:35/5:50 on 20 mpw then do I have a decent chance at mid 2:20s for the 800? I dropped ~10s from my 800 just going up from 10-15 mpw to 20, so I feel like it’s pretty reasonable to drop a lot more time, right? I know those aren’t great times but I feel like I’m so undertrained I could still potentially drop a ton of time. Aiming for about mid 2:20s/5:30s this winter. Any thoughts on what times I could probably see on higher mileage?
Does anyone have any experience walking on as a sophomore? Even if I get fast enough is it a bad idea? It is a D3 school. I’m really used to being the slowest all the time so that’s not a big deal tbh.
Any help is appreciated.
