Is this like 2.7% faster or something? Is it really worth $100 more than the standard Pegasus 34?

Well, let's do some math.
Pegasus 35 - Pegasus 34 = Pegasus 1
It's one Pegasus more, so you have to pay a premium on it.
Not hard to figure out.
I have not been following the release of the shoe, but the big shoe companies sometimes have artificially low inventory (and jack up prices) to create buzz.
I don't know if they have a standard Peg 35 as well as the Turbo, but if they don't it makes sense for Nike as for years they have commented about how low price the pegasus was as a shoe and how they could be charging more for it. Maybe they are slightly rebranding to 'justify' the cost bump
Nike is trying to challenge Disney as the most evil corporation wanting to take your last dollar.

They have both ?
Because plenty of people are willing to pay that much for them.
Episode 37 of the Inside Running Podcast has a fantastic rundown of the Nike Zoom Pegasus Turbo. It’s a comibination if foam technology used. Part of the material used for the Peg 35s and part of the material used for the Zoom Fly/4% shoes. No spike plate in the turbos. The reason the shoe is being released in the first place has a lot to do with Kipchoge. Apparently he loved the 4% shoes so much that he wanted something similar that he could use for his everyday training.
As for the price, it has to do with the production of the materials used to make the shoe, specifically the materials also used in the Zoom Fly/4%. It’s not easy to make these shoes. It’s expensive. So, similaraly to the Zoom Fly/4% there will be a limited release of the Peg Turbos.
So Kipchoge didn't like the Zoom Fly due to the foam?
I've got about 50 miles in these, which included a 20 miler. They are very good trainers, probably my current favorite for anything but tempo/faster workouts. That said....the price is steep. Considering the Go Run Ride 7 can be had for $60, and that's a super solid trainer as well. Hoping they last a while, cause I do enjoy them. Most of the Nike lineup now is pretty steep in price...so they are just getting what people will gladly hand over. I would also add I feel they are quite protective with the cushion without feeling too soft...

Huh? Where do you read into that? No, Kipchoge wanted something similar to the vf4% tech; but as part of an everyday trainer- not a racer. You people are either purposefully obtuse or just plain dumb. I can't determine which it is.
I thought the Zoom Fly was the trainer version of the VaporFly4%. He wanted something to train in like the 4% so I was wondering if/what it was he did not like with the Fly. Sorry this seems like an unreasonable question to you.
It's the plate. Running with that everyday is not a good idea.

The Zoom Fly is still an up-tempo/racing shoe, not a daily. It's built on the same structural concepts as the 4%, but cheaper materials. Kipchoge wanted something with a similar feel (cushion-wise), but not stiff.
As to the price, it's more expensive because it has more expensive stuff in it. Same price as the Ultra Boost, so the market is clearly willing to buy at that price point.
Goodness, it's quite obvious - it's the turbo - turbos cost extra $$
Thanks Urban B for the explanation. I think "Strange people here" is the dumb/obtuse one as they did not understand my question. Zoom Fly foam vs 4% foam. I now understand is has more to do with the plate. Thank you. Asking since I came down with a severe case of PF, 'I think' training in the Zoom Fly. I wanted to know why Kipchoge did not use Zoom Fly to train. Am watching closely to see what Hasay ends up training in after her latest injury. Before, a lot of her training pics seemed to have her in Zoom Fly or 4%.
I'd like to see a zoom air structure turbo just like Rupp trains in.

That's funny as I think the Zoom Fly is easier on my PF, because of the stiffness, I guess? Another example how the same shoe can be dramatically different depending on the wearer.
Sorry, I don't have to go to work. I retired at age 48. I guess my brains got me no where :)
