lol how do you squat 5 plates? one side would be a full 45 lbs heavier than the other. Also, 45 x 6 is only 270 pounds.
Is he talking about each side or all together? If he is talking about 6 plates all together+ the bar that would be 315 ibs.
In lifting lingo, "5 plates" means 5 plates on each side, i.e., 495 lbs. I really doubt this guy did a full squat of 495 lbs when he could run a 4:18 mile. 315 lbs is "3 plates".
A couple other notes:
My son was a decathlete and ran a 4:27 1500 and could deadlift well over 500 lbs. Not sure of his squat, but it may have been up there.
Alex Viada is a fraud and has no evidence of ever running faster than the average hobbyjogger. There was a long thread about him on here in 2014. Alex called a BroJo and got it removed and then stopped making those claims but never came clean on it and dupes still believe those numbers that are still out there like the link shown. He also exaggerates his lifting but he is real strong. The one powerlifting meet he did he hit some good numbers but nowhere near what he claims online.
