The original research paper was published in the number 2 ranked sports medicine peer-reviewed journal. That alone makes it better evidence and science than 99% of what's backing other held beliefs in running. If you can point out a flaw in the study design, i'm all ears. I suspect you'll point to the study funding if you bother to even do that much research.
That being said they found the majority of the shoes improvements to be from the ZoomX foam. There is some residual unexplained performance improvements that could be attributed to the plate.

I guarantee you, if you take the vaporfly 4 or elite or whatever they call those shoes, you get the same time as with other shoes (maybe even worse). Even the elites don’t improve their times using these pillows for shoes. Kipchoge runs the same times more or less with these vaporfly as he did with previous models, so stop falling for all these marketing bullshi& tricks.
