Looks like Jim is running Beat the Heat 10k tomorrow in Scottsdale, AZ. Weather is looking a bit cooler, probably high 90s by race time. Whatcha got for predictions?

Will blast the first 8K, then get disoriented and go off course before staggering home in 57 minutes.
Is he going on a bender tonight?
He ran 29 minutes in college. My guess, 32 minutes all these ultras slowed him down.
27:48
Tune up for his 13:36 at Western States!!
States is next weekend so this obviously won't be anywhere near his best effort
When your sport's biggest stars get rub downs from their sugar daddies in Oregon and are Jesus freak mama boys in South Africa, your sport sucks horse balls.
Hahahahahaha.?

This will be simply a training run, and nothing besides that.

The race distance is 10.22 kilometers. Subtract about 65 seconds...Do you have a link to results?
Sorry, the adjustment is actually more like 40-45 seconds. Looks like he won though.
And people think he could run sub 2:15 LOL!

Seriously question, since I'm just a hobby jogger and very casual fan of running sports... what would be an impressive 10k time for someone mid-taper for a 100 mile race the following weekend in those kind of temps? I mean, he won the race and the $2k prize. If that's not an impressive time, seems weird that some decent runner who's not in the middle of a taper wouldn't just come and bank an easy $2k.
What is the threshold that separates a "hobbyjogger" from a "sub-elite" runner?
