And I am going to ignore any answers that tell me to give up or find another sport.
I am a 26 year old female, I have been running fir 6 years. My best 5k was around 22 minites. I am currently capable of 24 minutes.
My bmi is 22.5 and I have 27% body fat but because my thyroid is basically screwed because of a complex genetic disorder (which also effects my ability to metabolise protein) I can’t really deop any weight even though I do HIIT, weight training and eat clean 24/7 without slip ups ( (I eat a clean paleo/keto diet). My BF is frozen at 27% and there’s not really much I can do about it. And yes, I manage my calories without over or underestimating how much I eat. I eat eggs, fish, nuts, fruit, veg, dark chocolate, etc.
I can’t rely on getting down to a 20minute 5k by losing body fat because my body simply will not shift it even with 2 years of living a consistenyly perfect healthy lifestyle so I was wondering how fast I could go on cardio conditioning alone at 27% BF? I have managed to get down from a 25:305k to a 24:30 5k in two months but it has taken a lot of work.
I am not primarily focusing on the 5k but more building up anaerobic fitness at the moment, my 5k just so happens to have dropped through training for that (speed endurance)
I am capable of a 14 sec 100and 70-75 sec 400. My 800 is a hair under 3.
Mon 35 mile bike ride (uphill)

Fri 25 mile bike ride moderate + WEIGHTS

I am not trolling. I have a burning passion for fitness and I do not mind pushing myself when it hurts but not a body that really lets me persue it. I know for a fact that if my body /metabolism worked like a normal 20-30year old I would be around 18-20% and a hell of a lot faster with a hell of a lot more endurance based on the exercise I do but unfortunately that is not my reality. I want to know how fast I can get whilst staying stagnant at 27% bf? I’m prepared to really hurt to improve.
Does anybody have any experience with training with metabolic abnormalities? If so, I need your help.
