I am going to be starting xc summer training in a few weeks and I was wondering what the right plan should be?
A little background: I am a girl, and I am going to be in 10th grade. Last year was my first year running and my pr was around 20:30. If it helps indoor 3k pr was 11:40... (didn’t have a good outdoor from injuries).
I want to try to go at least 19:30 I think I can considering xc was my first season ever running.
So we don’t have a coach right now so I can’t ask him this, but what is the best way to go after summer training?
Should you just build up mileage? Should I be incooperating long runs, tempos, or workouts?
I basically just ran 4 or 5 days a week last summer. When I got to preseason I started having 1 workout a week, 1 long run a week, and just east runs the rest?
I really have no idea what I am doing and I need some help! Thanks!
