My current PR is 4:50, set 5 weeks ago. I have not raced a 1600m since (scheduling issues, got sick for one meet, and the rest I did some 800s). Tomorrow is my last chance to qualify for districts in the 1600m. There will be a rather large pack that is likely to go low-mid 4:30s. Since I truthfully have no clue what shape I'm in (If I had to guess, low 4:40s... I feel like I'm faster than a month ago since after I did a few more sharpening workouts. Best workout was a week ago, 8x400 @ 70.5 1 min recovery), do I risk it for the biscuit and hold on to that pack for dear life, or hang back and negative split to avoid risking a blow up?
