Wow. Hypothermia heaven
You really didn't grasp the point of their post...

How much of a pansy are you? Everyone is probably flying out that Tuesday anyway. Plus all the road blocks and police personnel etc.
Sack up and run. Just accept you're not going to hit goal pace but you get all the stories to tell after.
Bruhh the weather is sh1t not only for elites but for recreational runners as well. There is no point in hosting it like this. No irl spectators, lots of injuries probably, just a sheet place to run.

I said they should institute a 1 day delay option every year. Take another holiday. Tourists would have to stay extra day so win win.
But no, they won't cancel unless freeze rain, which is out for tomorrow.
I agree, and have the Hotels give the runners their hotel free for an extra day, as the Marathon Helps the Economy immensely anyway, All runners who had Plane Tickets to leave Tuesday, could leave a day later at no extra charge.
This is either a hilarious troll or you are so clueless it's downright sad. I seriously hope it's the former because if it's not then I even more greatly fear for the future.
The Citizen Runner’s fierce internal fortitude could lead to an historic upset!

They should not offer this. The rules are the rules, when Expo ends this evening that should be the absolute end for bib pickup. People traveling should have allotted extra time for the possibility of complications in getting there.
Are you kidding me? Why does it matter? Are you even racing tomorrow? No. I know people are very dumb, but it still surprises me people are actually as stupid and petty as you.
Have the Authoritarian loving, soviet-style sheep always been among us? They would tell Ghandi and MLK "the rules are the rules."
We are Americans. Boston threw a bunch of tea in the harbor. That's what we think of "the rules are the rules."
I ran the Boilermaker one year and the National Weather Service advised them to cancel. The web site was flooded with people saying to have it.
They had it, they cancelled the post race party and the storm never materialized.
Is there going to be a post-race party at Fenway Park this year or is that kaput?
“This system will rank up there as one of the most significant winter storms in some time,” the National Weather Service said, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune. A short time later, the weather service declared the storm “historic.”

No, the runners affected should have planned to travel to Boston on Friday or Saturday to give themselves buffer time to get to the expo.
that may be but with the high marathon entry fee, the unlovely action.com processing fee, the high airline baggage fee, the Charlie Ticket, the $300/night hotel, and the hotel taxes tacked on, nobody can be blamed for trying to cut corners and save cash by arriving as late to Boston as possible.

that may be but running a Boston Marathon with almost zero spectators makes the fun level go way down.
Down to almost being a drag.
Hobbyjogger alert. Real runners couldn't give two shits (they might maybe could squeeze out one) whether there are any f'ing spec-taters there or not. Buncha high-fiveing hobbyjoggers doing a heel-click at the finish line ... GO BACK TO HOBBYJOGGERTON!
If they cancelled this race I will never admit to being a runner again. It would be downright embarrassing.
The worst part of the race will be before the race and after for people who can't get to their change of clothes quickly.
Cancel? Alright, I'll feed the troll. If they didn't cancel in 1976, those calling the shots today would have to be female genitalia by comparison to cancel in any conditions other than rampant lightening or radioactive fallout. Having typed that, I will add that they'd better have a lot of medical personnel on hand to deal with the number of runners who don't dress properly and will be hypothermic within minutes after they stop running.

Or just run in the reverse direction. Net elevation gain (and uphill finish) but it'd still be faster and more pleasant than running into a huge wind when cold and wet.
Just buy synthetic weather-special event swaps from AIG and Goldman Sachs and all will be right in the world.

Only Boomers would whine loud enough to get BAA to cancel. Thankfully enough millennials (who are much more like the Greatest Generation than they are their pathetic Boomer parents) are running that the race will go on.
+1
Lightning would have to strike the athletes village for them to cancel... No way they cancel.

I like to pull a canoe and wear a lightning rod.

No Mr. Millenial, not like the Greatest Generation...a bunch of whiners who live on a keyboard.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
