SC- Sounds like a tough weather week! Do you ever move things to a treadmill or just stick with "life handed me" type philosophy? Btw, I'm a big fan of that philosophy! Training for a spring marathon must be brutal in a winter environment but then I remember some of us foolishly try and train for fall races in brutal summer environments. Also, glad you are back to active in this thread, especially considering we are around the same goals. It's nice to see what you're doing considering you're about a month in front of me in a training cycle.
GT- that 7 on Thursday looks strong. Also, wasn't it you that pointed us to the fire red North Face shorts? If so (I think i'm right) then thank you, I'm a fan of them already.
Tall Dark Roast - like the handle. Good job on the 5k, I've been there recently. Stings a bit knowing you were more in 17:45 shape with good pacing but sometimes you just have to race. Welcome to the thread.
Coach - excited to see what you do!
Running for fun - that's treadmill dedication. I like 5x1200 with some big recoveries. Good luck on the 5 miler.
Puto- This is the time of the year that I curse the wind almost daily. It always seems to be in my face going out and in my face coming back in. I have never been able to understand how that actually happens.
Pappy - hope that knee bounces back! Take care of it.
Bobby - good week. I like those alternations on Friday. You guys aren't making me look forward to moving back to a winter climate!
Pewow - what's the difference between short sprints, accels, and strides? I've always wondered
Adrian - good week. "Storks came back"? Is that literal or some interpretive thing meaning you have a child on the way? :)
OR - You crack me up! I keep waiting for the "I took it easy in my taper" post but you do you. I enjoy how you do you with no apologies.
Still Improving - Is that Sugarloaf, Maine? Looks like a solid week. Even though we don't "spring forward" I hate the time change still because it just means it's going to be hot no matter what time of day I run.
Smoove - You are a beast. Great job on the race and the Masters overall. I'm secretly hoping I might catch some masters money at Bayshore which could pay for a few post race beers. Did you get a check or just bragging rights and another medal?
Slow - nice work. I'm curious about the "Portuguese shift" as well. Care to extrapolate?
Hantph- I hope the wife and kids are coming back! Nice week. What were you drinking?
Ok, all I have time for now. One more cocktail and bed time for me.
