I was very independent in high school, and the only one on my team who competed at state.
This is what I would do.
1) Stop running on gym floors, as they could very quickly mess up your legs and you wouldn't be able to run anymore;
2) The indoor season is not important, and indoor tracks are harder on your legs and body. I would forget about the indoor season and put your focus on outdoor. Run on the roads, grass, dirt as much as possible, and the outdoor track. Stay away from running indoors.
3) Do your own training. You can run before, during, and after the regular practices, and adapt everything you do to fit into your own program. Also you can do this discretely, so it seems like you're doing her program, but you're really doing your own. Focus on yourself and what you are doing. The coach is not important to this, but you are.
