Currently trying to break 5 in the 1600 and unsure of how to take it. At the end of the spring season, I ran a 5:27, and have ran over the summer and during xc. I have the choices of...
A) take out a slower heat toward the front and have the chance of not reaching this 5 minute mark
B) ask coach for a faster seed to get into a faster heat, but risk falling off the pack into no man’s land.
My most recent decent race was a 3:02 1000 about a week ago. I have raced and worked out since then.
