I'd say that's a pretty strong result for Chelimo. He has seemed to struggle at distances over the 5000m and off the track. Seems like a good sign for the upcoming indoor season.
Why is Moen doing these XC races? You don't see Kipchoge, Bekele, Rupp, etc. doing this. Is it actually just part of his training program?
Awesome to see World Mountain Champ, Joe Gray, mixing it up with the big dogs!!!!!!!!1
Ummm Bekele won like 7 world titles in Xc.
Paul Chelimo

Maybe he is of the Yuki/Dewi Griffiths mentality and just likes to race.
Anyways, great race by Chelimo, he looked tough out there. No wonder he has become a persistent medal threat.
It doesn't change anything, but it looks like they DQ'ed the second place guy and Chelimo is 2nd. The results at the end display that way.

Ummm, I believe that was way before he was marathoning...just sayin

I cannot speak Italian, but the second time they put the results up, Deriba is gone from them and Chelimo is 2nd. Could just be a mistake?
At about 33.54 into the first video link, the results are up, without Deriba.
If I had a marathon-amount of base built up, and only been on the roads or track- id love to go back to cross country and feel what it’s like with that kind of strength.

38 seconds from Chelimo, 16 seconds from Moen... utterly impressive for a 'mountain runner'.
I demand to know why my thread about this meet, with the exact same videos, was deleted. Other than being entirely Italian, there was nothing offensive about it. The mods here are so arbitrary. A pinned thread where they explain some of their decisions, would be a good idea. Right now, if someone gets banned, there's no way for them to know why or defend themselves.

True. Cross country is just fun. There aren’t enough racing opportunities for adults, and the few races out there are charging $35-$40 for a 5k. No thanks.

Wait till you get banned without knowing why.

Did you get banned? You’re still posting, so clearly not.
