I found the championship game scene of Airbud to be pretty riveting!

But let's stick to battles in a MILITARY sense. I mean, I like You Got Served as much as the next guy, but let's save that for a different thread...

Man, great movie. Those air strikes...
SPR was the only realistic one of those three.
Almost nobody accurately depicts a battle, particularly when they show infantry sprinting forward like Braveheart, that's not how they "charge."
Einar's attack in The Vikings was tactically credible, and appropriately grim and brutal. No heroes, no glory. And Kirk Douglas is still alive.

I don't doubt that at all. Just curious, what are you basing that on? I would love to watch a documentary or read a book about how ancient troops would have charged.
The closest thing I have seen is the Mammoth Book of Battles: In their own Words (that title is from memory; it may not be quite right), which described some really cool Greek Hoplite battles.

in general when you have massed infantry in formation, you don't want to break up that formation or they no longer act cohesively. Or have them be tired when they start fighting.
For tediously precise battle descriptions read Cornwell. Only the Sharpe novels have been made into video though and they're low budget, few big battles.

Are you talking about the Roman battle of Milvian or the Scottish Battle of Stirling Bridge from the film "Braveheart?" If it's the Battle of Stirling Bridge in Scotland it wasn't at all depicted accurately in "Braveheart."
It wasn't a pitched battle fought on open ground but instead Wallace & Moray/Murray ambushed the English army led by the Earl of Surrey as they crossed the Stirling Bridge over the River Forth near Stirling Castle. When about half the English army crossed over the bridge, Scots spearmen came down from the high ground in rapid advance and pretty much annihilated the front group which was comprised of most of the heavy cavalry. The rest of English army got bogged down on the bridge and were sitting ducks for the Scottish spearmen & archers where most retreated (nothing like this was depicted in the film!).
This battle was one of Scotland's greatest defeats of the powerful English army and a total humiliation for King Edward ("Longshanks").

Battle of Milli Vanilli Bridge?
Of your choices, easily D-Day in Saving Private Ryan. Siege of Gondor is okay, but too long and it gets ridiculous with the giant oliphants and so on. Braveheart verges on silly. Milvian Bridge is a Roman battle in 312 involving Constantine, not the battle in Braveheart.
I don't know about "epic" but one of the best battles on film is the battle in the forest in Last of the Mohicans. Here's a clip, but you really should watch the whole movie from the beginning to get the full effect:
The siege of Ft. William Henry is excellent, as are all the action scenes. The performances are all great. You just have to overlook some clunky dialogue.
Another classic is Rorke's Drift in Zulu, although it's now a bit dated:

The battle scenes in GoT are poorly done. This was where the show really came off the rails. It’s been progressively worse with each season. Early seasons were good only because the writers had Martin’s text to rely on. Go to the books, much better.
The Ten Commandments. The Egyptians were going up against the Big Guy. Doesn't get more epic than that.
