Have you seen them? What were they thinking with this color choice?

It's, once again, ugly as hell.
But, once again, the "masses of asses" will still buy it.
You were expecting them to produce a decent looking jacket two years in a row??? I just got last years for $30 at TJ Maxx. Looks great!
I'm convinced they could put a poo emoji on the back as long as it had "Boston Marathon (Year)" on it and people would still buy it.
This is awful and they haven't changed the style in 5 years.

Because the 2014 jacket was a runaway success.
They should put Mike Rossi's pic on it in place of the unicorn, a real mythological Boston icon.
I considered getting the jacket, but I think this can wait. I don't think I'll have trouble getting it on clearance.
Too bad Robert Wang's petition failed:

Uhh, you do know they retired that color combination after the bombing ?
No, I did not know that. Be that as it may, it's not my petitition so why you mocking me?

Wait, is that true? Solar zest was a runaway success? I thought people hated that orange color.

The jacket that looks like it has a giant bandaid on the back looks great? ?

I want them to make the men's and women's the same color. 2016 and 2017 were different for the two primary genders. The website says both 2018 are Noble red, but they look different.

The 2018 men's looks orange. The women's looks red.

They updated the website. Women's I'd "Coral" and men's is "Noble Red".
All the sexual harrassment and even Boston has to call the girls pretty little princesses.
The celebration jacket should be the same color for everyone. To me it looks stupid when they are different.
Totally agree on all points. These jackets are hideous, and I hate that they are (once again) different for men and women. Seriously, what are they thinking? While I hated the bandaid-looking stripe, last years was palatable (the glow in the dark logo was a kind of cool touch). But the weird green the year before? Ugh. And, of course, the fact that MY jacket had to have a pink strip instead of the black on the men's was insulting. Do they think people won't realize I'm a woman? Or that I care?
Sigh. I was so hoping for decent jackets this year. I'm equally annoyed at the "storm" jackets, which I've liked a lot more than the celebration jackets over the last few years. One of the best things about them: both men's and women's came in black (though, of course, there were still distinctions so that I wouldn't forget that I'm a girl). This year, they didn't even have the courtesy to provide an alternative to the celebration jacket, as even the women's storm jacket is "coral," while the men's remains black with burgundy.
Is there any validation when purchasing one of these? Or can I (no BQ 'thon time) simply buy one and wear it around to seem much faster than I really am?
No validation or anything done. Anyone can buy one (and they do, as evidenced by the people walking around in them in the days leading up to the race in Boston).

In a word: Anyone can purchase it (hence, Mike Rossi and his owning of 98 pieces of Boston Marathon apparel before he ran it)
Nothing pisses off the Boston Marathon runners than a non-Boston Marathon runner wearing one of "their" jackets. It's quite comical. I've seen people get pissed (via Facebook) when they see a Boston shirt or jacket at TJMaxx or Ross.
I will never forget reading someone's comment of "I can't believe Boston Marathon would sell those jackets to TJ Maxx. The right to wear that jacket is earned and now just anybody can buy one". I replied with "To be fair, I earned the money to buy the jacket (at TJ Maxx) so that gives me the right to wear it". Man, were they pissed. After a few more people jumped in with their comments, I ended it with "It's a jacket. It doesn't have feelings. It will be okay"
They're ugly jackets. I'll never have one to wear, but man, people get all butt-hurt about "defending the integrity of the Boston Marathon."
