I think we can all agree that beards make a man appear older and much less attractive. So why do so many men grow one? Possibilities:
1) Laziness

Nobody thinks that beards make a man less attractive. Where did you get that?
Trolling?
Not trolling. Beards are super unattractive! But, whatever floats your boat.
Are you a real girl? Prove it.

Because looking good for you or anyone else is unimportant.

I would have loved to been around when the first man shaved, so I could join in the laughter and ridicule. He probably wanted to 'get in touch with his feminine side'.
It's to look older so that the coffin-dodgers who run the show will take you seriously.
Their ladies like it for seshual purposes:

I looked up "seshual" but can't find a definition. Interested in what it means.

American Indians never had beards. Must a been a vanity thing for their warriors.

Men tend to grow facial hair as they get older (so do women come to think of it).
You need to come to terms with the fact that you are not actually a girl anymore but a middle aged woman. Your potential partners WILL likely have facial hair. Deal with it.
You have to define “beard”. Big long thick beards = less attractive, but short “scruff”, especially if dark beard and hair = more attractive. Mine is patchy so I stick with very short or shaved

Not entirely true. However the gene for extensive facial hair was basically absent in the NA population.
You can actually find a really old video of tepee life and the man is plucking his scant facial hair with a pair of clamshells.

I've lost a facial hair or two to some clams.
Did you get it ground off.
