UNCW is a career ending job. Be very weary in pursuing that position.

Some girls get wooly?
If Furman assistant position is indeed opening and pays over $40,000, nice gig.
Can't be too much work with 6 distance coaches and just distance runners.

What is VT gonna do? I'd imagine they won't get a top notch middle distance coach like Thomas. Do they promote within? Who gets Johannigmeiers job if so? Do they have a volunteer?
Anybody have a word on Texas multis/jumps? Longhorns have 4 AA multis (Wolf, George, Steele, Ashtin) coming back in dec/hep. Blockburger and Licari are on market, but wanted to see if anyone had insight...
I bet the student athletes are very frustrated this summer. Months of not knowing who will be coaching them

Appalachian State, Texas A&M, and Naval Academy have already decided their hires

That’s cool. But what about the other 30 jobs out there? All of these schools can’t wait until after school starts in August to make their official hires.
UCF made their new head coach announcement and hired 2 coaches plus a director of ops in less then 3 weeks. You would think administration would hire faster so coaches can’t start recruiting and building their program. It’s almost cross country season.

In the next week most of the openings will be decided

This is how it works every single summer. And most of these schools love saving the salary dollars over the summer if they don’t have their new hires “start” until August or September...

Wanna bet? It’s Herbster at VT. Get used to it!
I am pretty tired of seeing the name Vanhoy on here! Either Vanhoy is posting nonstop himself. Or his best friend or parents are!!!
You all have to remember that sometimes the hiring process takes some time bc i takes most schools time to get the position listed on their website. Then they have it posted for 3-5 weeks before they even look at the pool of applicants. Some will look at them as they come in. Then they make phone interviews and narrow it down to 3-5 for on campus interviews. Then over a 2 week period they will bring them in for interviews. It's hard in the Summer time because the interview committee and other offices may not be on campus all summer. This makes it hard to get the committee together for these interviews. Then i know that a lot of times they make an offer and a lot of times the first person they offer it to rejects the offer. So they may offer to another candidate that interviewed or they may bring in 2-3 more over a 1-3 week period again and it starts over. Once an offer is made and is accepted then background checks have to happen and once this is done and some other checks they can finally make the announcement! So you see its not usually a 3-4 week process. I know of at least 4 jobs that were offered to coaches this summer and were turned down and the process started all over! And Vanhoy was not any of them believe it or not!!!
Agreed. Herbster turned down the UNC job and will take the VT job this week. Roberts will get UNC because there is no time left to go out to the market. Right place, right time.
Roberts is very well liked by Carolina current athletes , he still won't get head job...your missing one but name who still may be heading to chapel hill
Seems like Herbster has been predicted for just about every single job opening out there and he is still unemployed; he had to have known since Sategna was fired back in March that the chances of him being retained at Texas by the new head coach were slim to none.
