Not my favorite city, but I'll sure as hell take it over the rest of the midwest.

The annoying sports fan thing is, as one local person explained to me, can be summed up by the following: "We have nothing else really going on so we obsesses over it because it brings us together in good and in bad."
Sports fans, in general, are annoying. Talking to a Steelers fan is especially annoying since, you know they (the team, not the fans) have "six rings". They will remind you of this in every answer they give of you are questioning/debating them. "Doesn't matter, we have six rings".
Huh? What you talkin about Willis? Some gentrification for sure but still mainly a blue collar town. Lots of culture, sports, hills, trails, affordable...

We are not the Midwest. Also, did I mention we have six rings?

The women are ugly pigs.
It's not Scranton, I'll grant you that.
This makes me want to move to Pittsburgh.

So you're mad your team has fewer Super Bowl rings?
Pittsburgh is Midwest? Even St. Louis is not Midwest. Look at the map!

Woah there! Pittsburgh isn't one of those snobby eastern cities either!
Lots of like minded people to be friends with (hipsters).
Grocery shopping and getting around on sunday afternoons in the winter time is a breeze.
Oh and I win a lot of road races here.
What more could I ask from a city.
The trails around Western PA down into WV and parts of Ohio are beautiful and overlooked. Tough east coast trails, most are technical, and tough to handle at first if you're a flat land runner. Great terrain to make you a strong runner for sure. If you're looking for a PR in the marathon, I wouldn't advise Pittsburgh to be your go to because the hills will take it to you. The running community is evolving too from what I understand. The hipster presence can vary depending on what part of town you're in. The farther away from the city you venture, the more "blue collar, small town" vibe you'll get. You can see many sides of the spectrum in the Burgh.
Out of a limited sample size (Boston, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia): Pittsburgh is the best Marathon for the money. Despite being my slowest full; they have a chill convention, nice course, terrific weather and good crowd support in the middle miles.
USATF Half Marathon Nationals chose Pittsburgh for all the obvious reasons.
At least it's not Baltimore
Pittsburgh is a terrible city because people like you show up and complain. Deep down you wish your city had as many Super Bowl rings as Pittsburgh does. Pittsburgh has 6 Super Bowl rings.
Pittsburgh is a great city, with lots of character, history, and beauty.
The worst thing about it is that, due to its topography, getting anywhere is hard.
Is Pittsburgh really considered the "midwest"?
Yet it is regularly listed as one of the best cities to live in. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
You know just because you (or I) do not like a place does not make it a terrible place. I could not live in NYC but apparently millions of others want to live there.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
