I'm not watching Flotrack but if I wanted to, $29.99 is a negligible amount of money to me. Even if the broadcast is sh-t. I can't imagine having to budget for only $30, because I don't even think in units that small.

Sure it's not a ton of money but it's about value. For $20 I can get an online streaming service that has ESPN (slingTV). $35 I can get a package that has every sports channel.
MLB.TV to stream every baseball game in America is only $19 per month.
$30 for one event that used to be free is not worth it. Why not make it $99 like a boxing match?
"Discernible" is a strange word choice. "Significant" would make more sense.

I don't discern the difference between a $3,500 or $3,530 triathlon bike, or a suit. I think in big numbers. That's where the word choice comes from.
Agree with principled. It’s not the actual dollar amount, it’s what I’m getting for the dollar amount. I can think of tons of things better to spend 30 dollars on. If it was 10 dollars I would most likely feel enough value to purchase.
The last time I paid for a FloTrack Subscription it took me 6 months to actually get it cancelled!!!!, and i only ever got 3 months of my money back despite repeated emails. I only watched it for NCAA XC last year. DO NOT SUBSCRIBE!!!

"Not even rich" clearly doesn't actually understand the word "discern," since his post claiming he can't discern between 3500 and 3530 would say the same number twice if he couldn't discern between them.
It's not really about the money for me. I just don't feel like taking the time to sign up for a service just to watch one race. Even if the subscription was free, I wouldn't take the time to open an account, create a username and password, etc.

What a totally retarded argument (it makes sense that you don't know what discern means, either).
You example would only make sense if you already paid $3500 for your tv service and it would cost $30 more to add FloTrack to your viewing choices.
$3530 is 0.8571% greater than 3500. Of course no one would care about the difference when already paying a very similar sum of money for something. Want to guess what percent $30 is greater than 0?
At least come up with something that uses proper logic, dufus.
... and I would like to add that I don't think $30 for the service is a lot of money, either. I'm on your side. I just think you're an idiot.

This I agree with. Time is money and my time is valuable - very valuable, in fact.

Your percents are an entirely irrelevant exercise - a dollar saved is a dollar saved whether it's on an energy bar or a flight to Kona.

Really? That's odd......why would someone like you care about saving a single dollar when you don't think $30 is a "discernable" amount of money?
By the way, it's "discernible." If you like that word, you should learn how to spell it.
Get along now. You have some dollars to save. :)

You flew too close to the sun. Referencing tri bikes and flights to Kona was a step too far.
4/10 for the effort

I make 6 figures. 29.99 is a blip in my finances.
however, there was a time I worked for freaking 50 USD a month. you learn to value that crap. it's not about relative value to you, it's about face value. is the coverage worth 29.99? unlikely.

I've heard about this before. Sounds like the cost could be well over $30 if this happens.
Also, who is most likely to watch NCAAs? College kids. $30 is a fair amount of money when you don't have a full-time year-round job.
They set the price. You can choose to buy their service or not. Complaining about it makes you seem like a broke loser.
