Let's get Outdoors rolling!
400: Olsen/Mueller/Klamm WILDCARD: Pugh--His 600 didn't go perfect but he's the most 400m-type out of the top 600 guys. Ran the Nastiness out of Krogman in a 4x400.
800: Cook-Gallardo/Krogman/Hatton WILDCARD: Gustafson--ran 1:55 last year without a CC season. Looks smooth all the time. That mustache gives him a direct tap into Freddy Mercury's magical aura.
1500: Lonergan/Wachter/Ketola WILDCARD: Solheim--he can practice outside now that the glaciers are retreating. Big Miles = Power Moves in the metric mile for the Corncobs.
5000: Mueller/Wilkinson/Lerdall WILDCARD: Stumbo--see 10k.
10000: Mueller/Dodge/Meikle WILDCARD: Stumbo--let's see if he's a true distance guy. A quiet indoors suggests this to me. Biding his time, unnoticed like a tree stumpo, he'll blossom this spring and ride a gusty wind to the MIAC gold.
3000SC: O'Hare/Wilkinson/Rosenau WILDCARD: Mueller-- if he runs it. Good at everything but where can he win/score most? The 10k is much more winnable than the Steeple unless your last name is O'Hare or Rosenau.
4x800: Carleton/St Thomas/Bethel WILDCARD: St Olaf--a healthy, stacked St Olaf could take a tired or non-stacked Carleton.
4x400: Bethel/Carleton/St Thomas WILDCARD: St John's--lots of 200m talent over there. Convince them to run a 4x4 if they aren't all "injured" by the end of the meet.
My wildcards are kind of random, as is tradition. They are not strong convictions. Don't flame these guys if they don't live up to (my) hype.
