Hi all,

I don't have a book, but I enjoy the 800m. What do you wanna know?
Unless you have world class speed, you gotta be a good 1500m runner and a good 400m runner. You can't neglect endurance, or top speed. It'd be smart to get into the weight room and get strong. And it'd be smart to do sprint work as well as lots of easy mileage (for base phase).
Thanks for advices.
hip flexibility, hip strengthen, strong feet, agility, ...
I though about hurdle exercices, by exemple.
Hurdle drills are fantastic for runners of every race distance. I'm sure you can look up videos of hurdle drills, walk overs, etc that would help more than us explaining them on here.
Drills like bounding, single leg hops, hill sprints, etc would be good for reducing ground contact time and make your ankles, knees, etc stronger and more flexible.
There's probably a hundred different foot exercises you could do. Barefoot strides, towel crunches, some work with elastic bands and ankle movements, balance boards etc.
Most of this stuff is not neccesarily specific to the 800m, but specific to running in general. The drills, sprints and stuff is something you certainly would not want to neglect as an 800m runner, though.
Go on youtube to find some examples of a lot of this stuff, and use google to find more information about what drills you think you need to be doing. Just don't go overboard right away. you don't want to hurt yourself trying to get stronger by doing too much too soon.
Hi,
Thank you for advices and exercices. I will look on youtube and copy exercices.
Have a nice day.

Chris, pick up my book titled the Sprinter's Compendium. I lay out a three-month plan for what I call the "long sprint."
Oh thanks !
