Wait a minute? The best white guy in Norway is affiliated with a coach who is known to have ties to illegal substances? Sounds like the same problem we have in this country. The only difference is Al Sal was never allowed to write his own presciptions - he just made sure he coaches enough athletes that he had a bottle of whatever he needed lying around.
I certainly understand this. And one would be unwise to look past it blindly. However, there are circumstances that people need to know. During the investigation of Evertsen, the police did a raid at his house, and found to banned substances, can't remember which, but which he claims to be used for some patients of his, and those patients confirmed this story. Otherwise, Evertsen has had no claims against him, and no ties to performance enhancing usage for athletes.
As for some background on Sondre, he was a huge talent in his teens, running 14:02 at 17, and 1:02.5x for the half when he was 19. He later got an injury under his foot that took 3 seasons to recover from. After that, he has had a pretty steady progression. 59:47 was of course surprising, but considering his 1:02:19 half felt like a training run (according to him), that he his potential was far greater that the times he had run
