What Johnny confirms is that 800m guys typically run their lifetime best times in the course of a series of hard races over a short period of time, such as two weeks. That happened with Gray and Cruz certainly. They aren't getting in much training during the peak period and are racing frequently so that they are race sharp and used to the hard paces but their legs are fresher than you would expect because their workouts are almost non-existent at the time.
On the Cruz training, he said to us when wecasked him if you should be doing Lydiard type mileage for 800m. He replied no, but wryly said if you want to also run a good 1500m you have to "do the mileage" and he then told us that 'you can't be great at 800m without being good at 1500m.' Which is a rather interesting answer. I'm surprised he did 65 mpw, there was a lot of speed in there.
I just went to post to one of your other posts, this was in it.
Well you now know who to be wary of.
Ever see the 2nd Matrix film? Perhaps he is "the Architect" of the LR algorithm.
eh ???
Johnny said it, why woud anyone be interested in your opinion if you claim other ?!
you run a 1'42+ solo after rounds in hot weather looking around a lot in last 100 ???
is this a joke ???
his career peak year was '12, injured in '13 which also wrecked '14 & slight recovery in '15 to get a gold, off-peak in '16 but another gold & injured in '17
do you not follow the sport ???
again you don't follow the sport
it was run in 100F !!! brutal heat & smog of sofia off slow lap
given 75 - 80F & clean air & fast 1st lap, he wouda been looking at
1'42-mid
that undoubtedly peak shape of life
he was in fantastic shape in '88 games where he ran 1'45/1'46 in initial prelim which he felt was so easy that he thought he couda run 1'42+ if he'd run hard
he never pushed it hard in '89 when racking up long win streak with his indoor win indicating 1'41-high shape, but content to "ed moses it" but he got injured by '90 & on downside
utter nonsense
he is lane 1 to ~ 500m with huge drafting
he ran ~ 2.5m extra in it but has to give back some for drafting to 500m
no doubt a 1- off in 1'42-low region
eh ???
you don't seem to realise many guys, but not all are in career pb shape when winning big gold, but they don't have a 49.5 pacer inserted in race to show it
is this a joke ???
all the money in the world can't guarantee a 24-mid/49-high pacer & conditions can't be either
impress us
what you estimate Wilson's 1'41.24 off 24-low/49-low ???
i have many times
for an 1-off zurich, ideally drafted, etc :
~ 1'41-high
it's calculo
eh ?
rieti was always last serious meet of year, until milan cropped up once few years back when Big-Man lost his '12 unbeaten record
been some late meets in '00s when wally spearmon ran a 9.96 in shanghai nearly in october !!!, but shanghai moved now to early season
not bothered to check back then in post-rieti '96 if they staged a meet in japan in middle of september !!!
i'd switched to watch Sampras's bid to win US Open in early-september & not looked for track after rieti
then confirm pacer's 400 split & what you estimate Wilson's was
he ran 1'42.17
did he do it off 51.3 ???
no
not if someone offering some not insignificant drafting
this is is not a topic about beauty, otherwise we woud be stating nijel shouda run 1'41-flat in '12 final if he had "perfect" form !?
can you offer splits in that 1'42.17 ?
utter nonsense !!!
can't you read ???
he says he wanted to go home instead of run koblenz as he felt his body was finished !!!
to run 1'42.60 off even/negative splits with virtually certain 3 - 5m of extra on bends with that fatigue makes this one of top handful of intrinsic 800s ever !!!
no
they were never anywhere close to 1st race of that series, but Cruz ran that nonsense 1k & Johnny poorly in zurich after not recovering from his 1'44.01 US Championship win indianapolis just 5 days before, too tired after his title & jet-lagged for zurich
is this a joke ???
if they are are racing "frequently" in previous few days, when they shoud not be racing it all, it shoud be some 1'50+ leg-stretchers, not 1'42/1'43s !!!
I reckon you've had a really bad itch all week and you're at a bursting point. I actually thought that your Mark Carroll thread was good spotting. Seems interesting they delete your informative post but the nonsense ⤴above gets to stay. So guys with long careers that never get close to the times you suggest yet you ascribe magical super powers to them nonetheless.
Coe, Snell, Rodal, Borzakovskiy, Bucher and Boss aren't on your favourites ex post magical powers list. Hmmm ?what do they all have in common.

Calculo: please stop writing "+ve" instead of "positive." Native english speakers are confused by that.

Why do you think anybody would care to impress you?

idiot
what uncommon do they have with the guy who i said was in peak shape of
44.0 /1'38.9 / 3'24.2
Well, none of them including ryun was ever in that sort of shape, regardless of what you say. So there is that.
