All the races near me even with 100-300 runners altogether get some people doing sub 35 and the winner is usually around 33 minutes.
Is that unusual or on par with your country/state/region?

32.25 but it's uphill the whole way.
Smaller sanctioned local races around here are usually won in under 32. Larger ones, always sub 30.
M: 31
F:36
masters M: 35

A bit faster than "typical" race, it's the local usatf 10k, but there really aren't that many 10ks to pick from, so...
Sub 35 would win most 10k races here. I see the occasional 33.xx but never any better.
Depends on the time of year. If there are college runners who've just finished x-c/track season then 31ish.
Otherwise, more like 34 for open males. But I notice in a lot of races lately there's only one or two sub-40 finishers.
31:00, but that's one guy who wins all of our races at this point. Before he was around, it was 32 flat to 32 high.
2500-3000 person race.
Rarely under 40:00, unless a HS kid shows up.
30 for guys and 35 for girls
Now- high 33's, low 34's
When I was running those times I never won- back about 30 years ago.
We used to have some 31-33 guys.
Where is this? Eugene OR?I can recall only a few ever under 30 here and most look like these:http://www.zippyraceresults.com/searchrwt.php?ID=6767800+ Winner 36+http://www.zippyraceresults.com/searchrwt.php?ID=6733361 people 32.x winner, 3 under 36.http://www.zippyraceresults.com/searchrwt.php?ID=65881700 people only 8 under 35 winner 32.xI'm sure I could find faster races here if I looked harder but I find your claim hard to swallow.

Big race? Mid 30s.
Average weekend 10k? Mid 34-35
Random obscure 10k? Sometimes over 40
Big 10K races usually are won in 29-30, around 34 for the women.
Smaller races with only a few hundred people are wildly variable: if there is prize money, some guy will show up and run 31-32; otherwise 35-36 would often get the job done (39-40 for the women).
Last few I could find on Cool Running - Not really a common race distance anymore.

I am the soon to be race director for a local 10k with a little (very little) prize money.
2017 winning times:
M: 32:03 (he sat & kicked, second was 32:06)
F: 35:58 (solo)
Masters (M/F): 37:11/42:15
Grand Masters (M/F): 38:40/47:54
Seniors (M/F): 42:23/58:07
Prize money and gift certificates to top 3, masters, grandmaster, and senior.
$150 + 150 1st
$50 + 50 2nd
$25 + 25 3rd and Masters, GM, & senior.
The event record is 28:38 - 1993 by Ed Eyestone
Women event record is 33:53 - 1994 by Nicole Woodward. At one time (for a year or two) it was the 10k championship.
I'm trying to figure out how to draw some faster people without super huge prize money. I'm thinking of time bonus....maybe $500 split among all under 31 flat? We're not that far from Zap Fitness. I don't want it big enough where I'm swamped with people who come to run fast enough to take the money and vanish...more just fast regional people to come.
32:00-33:30 has kinda been the range for the last number of years. The race just had its 38th running this month.
It's a steal of a race too, only $10 (maybe going to $12) for preregistration. 516 finishers in 2017.
34 - 35. But all our major 10ks are paired with a 5k right before and almost all the serious runners do both
Interesting. 10k is the most prevalent distance here (France) and 5k are super hard to find.
Usually if it is a double race:5k/10 or 10k/half every serious runner goes to the longer distance.
Also, thanks everyone for your answers.

That's how it was where I went to school. Every now and then there was someone in their late 20s or something that would show up and run like 36, but who cares? There used to be fast people in town, but they're all old now.
Local: 31:14
Larger: 32:58 (town of 150 000 people.)
These are the latest results. One would expect tougher competition in the bigger race, but not this time.
Last bigger city event:
male 1.500 entries, 32 wins with 3 being sub 34.
female 900 entries, 35:30 wins.
My goal for next year September is to be(at) "the fastest woman" (yes, I am a guy. Let the trollings begin...)

Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
