3100 / 52 = 59.6 miles a day
"So far in the race, which began on June 18 and is scheduled to finish on Aug. 8, Ms. Holder has walked about 1,900 miles in in 33 days, sleeping only three and a half hours a night."
1900 / 33 = 57.6 miles a day

Her 59.6 miles per day leaves Mimi and Sandy in the dust.
You can not compare a closed loop race with a Trans Con. The Trans Con is more difficult on all levels except the running. You have to pay attention to the traffic at all times, the crew has to find places to stop, there is no set routine...
It probably cut's away 10% of the mileage you could do on a loop course without traffic.
The 3100 miler is so difficult because of the heat and humidity in Queens in Summer and the concrete pavement they have to run on.
Both challenges are very difficult, that's for sure.
