Klosterhalfen, Martinez and Simpson are all tied on waiting list with 6 pts.
According to the rules, In the event of a tie, the athlete with the best place finish during the qualifiers gets the nod
Martinez has a 3rd place finish in Rabat
Klosterhalfen has 3rd place in Rome
I assume both would advance over Simpson should they get the opportunity and decide to run
Lol this Mechaal guy must have looked behind him about 30 times in the last 100 meters.
Farah wins easy, Paula calling the last 400 his "lap of honor".
Interesting how Farah views the roads as a completely new start, no pressure he says.
Told BBC, "All I dreamed of as a youngster was runbing for Great Britain...Going to roads is going to be a completely new game."
Were these guys paid to run slow?
Mechaal made a big show of teeth-gritting and looking back. #SloMoShow
Mead showing off that amazing otc fitness in a stunning 7:51.

What a fantastic run today!!! no one has had a chance against Mo!!!
I'm not even joking these times are a joke
Steeplechase is hard wrote:
THIS. Plus, I think everyone here underestimates how hard the steeplechase is. You can as fast as you want but if you can master jumping over those barriers, it means nothing. Niether the flat 3k or the steeplechase are both not soft. They are completely different events in my opinion. If runners that normally don't run the steeplechase like Huddle, Rowbury, etc ran the steeple I'm sure they would lose to runners like Coburn and you would be saying "they don't have any real talent". It's just not their main or best event.
It's like asking long jumpers to be world class triple jumpers, and vice versa. Totally different disciplines
And yet Quigley has run some decent 1500 times
Andy Butchart made sure he got Mo's singlet in his final race in Britain. Ebay sale soon?
Hassan and Klosterhaufen the only ones with major times the entire meet (and Barshim with a great HJ...he has jumped 2.40 or better every year since 2012 now).
Hassan incredible range 1:56, 3:56, 8:28, bronze for 5000. Competing the 800 in Zurich DL final!
Remeber, great steeplers are only about 20-25 second off their flat 3k time so today Emma coburn would have been around 9:08-13, and frerichs around 9:13-18, so around their steeple PRs prior to london..

Sorta disappointed in Butchart this year. Had high hopes after Rio.
Frerichs only about 8 seconds slower than her world's race. This had to just be an off race for her.
I wasn't as surprised by Coburn though. Not only does she just have flawless steeple form meaning the steeple doesn't add much time, but she ran a 1500m earlier this year and only ran 4:13. She didn't have a ton of speed this year (granite she ran PR's of 4:06 and won the NCAA mile in 4:29 in the past).
She has said numerous time she did a lot more strength this year and that has obviously worked more. Maybe she will alternate steeples and 5k's more in the future.
Also, keep in mind that Frerich's 1500m PR is only 4:18. The 3000m SC takes a lot more strength than a flat 3k. Look at the top steeplers in the world right now. Most of them would definitely be, comparatively better in the 5k.
They need to raise the barriers in the women's steeplechase to the standard men's height... right now steeple looks like a joke. I mean, I was better on the flats as a steepler than this bunch.
Considering that the steeple is run at about 5000 pace, it stands to reason the 5000 would be a better match for Coburn and Frerichs. Interesting that Quigley has a 1500 PR that is 15 seconds better than Frerichs'.
This race struck me with how Obiri is working her arms like a sprinter the whole time. Just doesn't look efficient at all.
