Yes, that's vandalism, so it's a crime.
But if there point was to draw national attention then it was the price paid.
What have these reactions gotten this country?? It's only made things worse. No one is approaching this situation with common sense and rational thinking. In the end every side will lose.

You thought Ebola was going to ruin the US. You aren't exactly the master of foresight.
What's next? Burn down Mt. Vernon and Monticello? Chip off Washington's head from Mt. Rushmore? A good portion of the Continental Congress owned slaves... should we burn the Constitution? And do you trust that those toppling these statues are able to draft a new document that would establish a more fair and equitable government?

Each local government should decide what they want to celebrate in their public spaces. That's how we decide what's next.

Don;t be an idiot. other sides may pay a penalty, but only the racists neo nazis will lose.
You can't make it worse. These right wingers - like you, I have seen your posts - are on the worng side of history.
There is nothig rational about racist and neo nazi views. What amazes me is nazism is banned in germany and tolerated her. I'll be happy to cast the first stone.
These same losers are against our "invasion" of the middle east yet they LOVE the invasion of the South when they wanted to secede--ordained for them to do so by the Constitution.

It is common sense to oppose statues on public property of enemies of the United States.
It is irrational to claim that the Civil War was about states rights when every state that seceded specifically mentioned the right to own slaves in their declarations of independence.
And I would also say that Confederate Vice President Alexander Stephens knew more what the cause of the Civil War than today's yahoos who try to claim it was some noble cause. Here is what he had to say:
"Our new government is founded upon exactly [this] idea; its foundations are laid, its corner-stone rests, upon the great truth that the negro is not equal to the white man; that slavery subordination to the superior race, is his natural and normal condition. This, our new government, is the first, in the history of the world, based upon this great physical, philosophical, and moral truth."

I'll see our Stephens quote and raise you an Abraham Lincoln quote:
"I have no purpose to introduce political and social equality between the white and black races. There is physical difference between the two which, in my judgment, will probably forever forbid their living together upon the footing of perfect equality, and inasmuch as it becomes a necessity that there must be a difference, I, as well as Judge Douglas, am in favor of the race to which I belong having the superior position."
Let's not forget that the NC congress passed a 5-year moratorium on altering 'public art' recently to prevent these statues being taken down. Crazy that we pay these guys our tax dollars to make laws like that.
This was a fine bit of civil disobedience against both strange celebrating of treason and ludicrous governmental behavior.
I hope they get in so much trouble! How horrible the confederate losers must feel to have their participation trophy knocked down.

I guess that fancy SJW degree of yours skipped over grammar and usage, huh?
Yep. He was a racist too. But he didn't rebel against the United States in order to preserve slavery. And the South, which did, is not to be honored for some states rights BS.
The mistake that was made was failing to pass a federal law making it illegal to possess Confederate memorabilia, to display the Confederate flag, to erect statues and monuments to the traitors and so forth.
I'm going to demand George III get's a statue in my town. We need to be reminded of how good we had it under a monarchy. It's terrible living in this free, democratic society.

You're right, it's all that darned Ulysses Grant's fault! Of course the MSM will try to pin this on the racist new-Nazis. But, it was truthfully those pencil-pushing liberals in Washington singing Kumbaya that did us in!

Lincoln was a product of his time, and certainly an imperfect messenger - what politician isn't - but most people can still tell the difference between Lincoln and the southern traitors.

So you two clowns equate invading another country with putting down a rebellion of racist traitors in the United States?
