Have you read his comments?
I can't see the comments, but this totally supports the Kenyan/Canova narrative, as well as that old Danish study, that says that even untrained Kenyan teens (this kid is 13!) can crush European national-quality runners. Of course, it is at altitude and you can't just go up to altitude and beat altitude-born and raised athletes, but there's no doubting that there's a ton of talent.

Do you mean the comments beneath the photo? Those seem very complimentary and positive. How could those bother you?

That isn't what the study showed. Why are you lying? Oh wait, you're a PC neckbeard. Get back to your latte. The study showed there was a higher percentage of talent among Kenyans, obviously. Untrained runners did not fair all that well against seasoned, trained competitors. As far as Canova goes, he's a fraud. Get rid of drugs and then see what kind of a coach he is.
Of course, considering how often Kenyans lie, you can never be sure that an untrained runner is an untrained runner. It even goes all the way back to Mary Liquori's great story about following Ben Jipcho and Kip Keino on a run - a very hard long run over 10 miles. When they noticed Liquori behind them at the end of the run they almost freaked. Marty asked them what they'd run and they told him they'd basically had an easy jog.
Hopefully the kid in the pic keeps improving. On a side note, if he's really good when he's 21 or 22, we'll see him representing Kenya in the under 18 championships.
What is wrong or rude about what he wrote? You must be the biggest snowflake in Kenya.
Not sure the source of your animus, but here is a critical summary of some of that Scandinavian research (both Sweden and later Denmark):

From the same idiot who thought Chelanga was ripping on Africa.
Another bogus study. Yeah, genetic. Some random guy from New Zealand moves to Kenya and now he's the top 10 10k & half marathoner in the world. I think there's something else going on..
Interesting that those much-cited studies were complete garbage. It is surprising that the Atlantic and other periodicals would publish such lightly researched, slipshod work. Here is a quote from one of the comments, written by someone saying he was a Kalenjin: "Currently in Iten town, there are various sports clubs - complete with modern gyms dot the landscape. Athletes from all over the world come here to train."
I'm quoting this because Canova says there aren't weight training facilities available for Kenyan distance runners.

Most of the locals probably can't afford to use the gyms.
So he's arguing that the results would be different if they were at sea level? So? Why would being at altitude not give the Kenyans an advantage if the NZ runners have never been there?

Yes a random guy who has fluke genetics close to a Kenyan just like every other top white runner.

Yes... he is arguing this about a fun run against untrained children. Whoosh.

Thank you, Hardloper. Finally someone that gets it. This guy is so angry, filled with hate/hostility that he sees a13-year-old kid as competition to be crushed? Oh, and those untrained kids would most likely beat New Zealanders OF THE SAME AGE at sea level.
But hey, look at him now. Such a big guy, right?
Where do you see anger, hate, and hostility in those comments? They're completely complimentary and friendly.

The Kenya-hate on this site (from alleged modern, big, bad superpower America) used to bother me some, but is now a source of great pride and joy. Thinking that this "backward and underdeveloped" country is utterly dominating you at a sport you'd claimed for yourselves and for all your money and science, just can't figure how to beat them, gives me such a rush sometimes.
Oh, and when the kid is like 25 and breaking world records, you'll be posting on here that he's a cheater, "doped to the gills" and whining about him stealing the sport from its rightful owners.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
