36.2 300m , 8.14 3000m, what time for 800m?

1:53.5
Depends on your speed endurance and lactic resistance. I knew a guy who was in your ball park or even a tad slower in the 300 and would have been hard pressed to run 8:3X. He ran 1:49,0X. Needless to say it always seemed like he was made for the 800/1000 (he ran 2:22). 400 was too short. 1500 too long for him.
so what time do you think?
I ran 35/36 in 300 but was only ever in about 830-840 3k shape. I ran 1:53 winning with big negative split. I would say 1:49 - 1:53
1:49-1:50
I'd agree with this

Any other thoughts?
I'd say as fast as 1:48.5, as slow as 1:52.5 just depends

36.2 at 300 gives about 49-50 at 400
So..with that very good strength 8.14 at 3000m It will point at
49-50 x 2 + 10 to12 sec = 1.38 to 1.40 + 10-12 sec = 1.48-1.52 min
And then we can amuse ourselves with what WvN could do if trained for the 800m.
43- 44 x 2 + 10 to 12 sec = 1.26 to 1.28 min + 10 to 12 sec = 1.36-1.40 min !!!
4.17 and expert predictor. Pretty wide range I don't understand the 1 50 unless the athlete does no 800 specific training at all
Sorry meant 1 52 not 1 50

It all depends what event you end up raining for.
Sam Worley and Casey Clinger ran almost the exact same 400m time early season and similar XC times, but ended up going in completely different directions in Spring.
Sam Worley: Casey Clinger:
50.06 50.04
1:48.25 1:53.06
4:00.61 4:02.90
9:15.38 8:44.70
Interesting Rotich,
But right at that time. Someone has just run 36.2 and 8.14 days apart, what can they do for an 800 the following week?

I ran 1.53.2 off an 8.50 and estimated 37 low in one season.

Yeah, I agree. Some distance runners have surprisingly good speed and struggle with the 800. On the other hand, if he's an 800 guy running off events, I would think he could go 1:47
This very interesting. Surely if sone distance guys are quick all they'd need is some harder fast anaerobic training to run a good 800. Although 1 47 does seem a little quick.
1:49:67
I like your precise perspective.
