If I ran a 4:45 1600m and a 10:20 3200m, what should my 5k be. I ran cross last fall, but I feel like I could do a whole lot better this coming year.

There is literally no way for anyone on this board to predict your 5K time based off of the information that you have provided thus far. Have a good one.
I was just wondering if I could get an estimation, not a full on analysis.

Nope.
Don't put your real name online attached to other identifying information. A crazier person than I could pretty easily find out that you live in O***a , and if there's no other McCabes there, your address and phone number.
I promise I'm not coming to kill you by the way.
16:40 5k if you want it. You got endurance, just need the wheels. For reference I ran a 10:36 a month before a 16:59.
3200 isn't as good as your 1600 so maybe endurance a problem as distances get longer. Potential to run low 16 but probably 17.20 now.
If you can and you really wanna challenge yourself, go with the 5k
My senior year I ran 17:19 for the XC 5K, that track season I ran 4:31 and 9:49 (1600 & 3200). It kinda just depends on what your doing at the time I guess.
Somewhere between 16:30 and 17:30. How many mpw do you run and how far are your long runs?

This is very true... I see you've also ran a 2:07 800... Based on your 8 and 16, it seems you have more speed than endurance. Work on your mileage and long runs.
According to this, 16:56
High 16s sounds about right to me

Did you look at it? It uses two times so it accounts for your aerobic/anaerobic balance (or at least attempts to). Other calculators give values from 15:53 to 16:40 (http://tools.runnerspace.com/gprofile.php?do=title&title_id=801&mgroup_id=45577)
16:45 is about what I would estimate.
All I know is that the sprints times were wayyyy off. It may be accurate for the distance.
Oh, for sure. It's decent when you have similar distances but yeah, 400 and down is usually totally off. I'd also imagine that an 800 and 1600 can't be used to predict a marathon, but 1600 and 3200 can give you a decent guess for 5k
I have to admit, during cross country I didn't really do anything. I ran about 20-30 miles a week with no workouts, and not much of a summer base (I ran for about half the summer) But during track season, I had a different coach and he raised my mileage to 35 with my long runs 8-10 miles long. After that and throwing in workouts, I ran huge PRs of 2:04, 4:31, and 9:49.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
